Bears for Humanity

Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it and you might be scrambling for roses, chocolates and a classic teddy bear. When Vijay and Renju Prathap became parents to twins, they too were scrambling for cute things for their new bundles of joy. They soon noticed a void in the market for a social responsible company creating stuffed animals. They took the task upon themselves and Bears for Humanity was born. This is part of a larger Valentine’s Day event, see the rest here.

Bears For Humanity manufacturers a complete line of plush in the US using only 100% GOTS certified organic materials and Fair Trade practices, and are hand-made by at-risk women from welfare-work programs through CalWorks outside of San Francisco. When one purchases a bear or other plush animal, the company also donates another to a child in need.

Our huggable, floppy and soft 12″ Brown Teddy Bear from our Baby Sherpas Collection is hand sewn in the USA, hypoallergenic, and made from 100% GOTS Certified organic cotton – there are no harmful plastics, chemicals, or dyes. We also offer larger 16″ Organic Brown Teddy Bear from our Sherpa Bears Collection. For every bear purchased, we donate a bear to a child in need – it’s a gift to feel good about. $25 (12′)$45 (16′)

I have to say the social footprint of this brand is absolutely something to brag about. I’m impressed and feel they thought of everything from organic sourcing, making it here is the USA and using fair trade sourcing, too. This 12″ Organic Cream Sherpa Bear is so cuddly but if he isn’t your thing, they do offer 14 friends in total all made in the same great way.

If you’re looking for the perfect bear to say “I love you”, Bears for Humanity is an easy choice.
